UFC flyweight Rachael Ostovich was assaulted over the weekend and hospitalized with severe injuries.

MMAWeekly.com sources confirmed the incident, though details were rare, following an initial report from TMZ Sports and confirmation from KHON2 News at Hawaii.

The initial report from TMZ said that Ostovich was assaulted while in Hawaii and that she may have suffered a broken orbital bone. The attacker was thought to be somebody that Ostovich knew, but the attackers identity has yet to be disclosed and details of the assault have never been released.

UFC officials weren’t able to comment on the problem in the time of publication.

[UPDATE — Monday, Nov. 19, 1:45 p.m. ET] A short time following book, sources told MMAWeekly.com that Ostovich was released from the hospital on Monday and that police are investigating the situation for a felony domestic violence incident.

Ostivich is scheduled to fight returning flyweight Paige VanZant about the UFC’s fight card to the ESPN+ digital streaming support. UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ is slated for Jan. 19 at Brooklyn, N.Y.

That bout is in doubt following the assault, though there’s been no word from her camp or by the UFC as rsquo & the bout ;s status.
