An intriguing lightweight matchup has been added to the most important card of the first of 2 Bellator MMA Hawaii events.

Derek Campos will take on Sam Sicilia in 155 lbs at Bellator 212 on Dec. 14 in Honolulu, MMA Fighting has heard.

Campos (19-7) has been a continuous presence in the Bellator lightweight branch since 2013, and has racked up an 8-5 record in the business. He’s coming from a TKO loss to Patricky Freire in February, which ended a four-fight win series.

Sicilia (16-9) has earned a reputation as a fascinating brawler, lose or win. He has broken a pair of coicts since he jumped into Bellator last year and is looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Emmanuel Sanchez in his final fight.

The bout will be on the first of 2 cards to be held in the Blasidell Center on successive evenings. The first event will be headlined by the rematch between Bellator lightweight champion Brent Primus and former titleholder Michael Chandler, and will air on Paramount Network and DAZN. The next day ’s card, Bellator 213, will be headlined by Hawaii’s Ilima Lei-Macfarlane, that will defend her Bellator flyweight title against Valerie Letourneau.
