The Portuguese boss hasn’t been shy previously in naming and shaming the players he considers are letting down the club and he has once more delivered names when being asked about what his United players are overlooking.
When asked what his most youthful players at Old Trafford are lacking, Mourinho said: “They are lacking maturity.
“And let me be clear when I say adulthood, I mean adulthood on a personal level. ”
Mourinho, whose United side who are 12 points behind Man City with 12 games gone, then reflected on past eras and considers players today get a lot too soon.
“We had more men, we were more mature, we were more prepared for life, we were protected,” added Mourinho.
“They are spoilt kids today, the children of today have an environment, a life and that I ’m speaking about the people around the players.
“All these people today give them much affection and too many excuses. Folks mature more slowly.
“But in the term I can not state [ cojones ] it ends at the day’s end however you use it much here… character, character, they lack a bit. ”
