The deal has dropped although AC Milan have been in talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic along with a possible loan from LA Galaxy, the club’s sporting director Leonardo has confirmed.

The 37-year-old allow them to win the 2011 Serie A title but won’t make a temporary return to Italy and scored more than 50 targets in two seasons for Milan.

“He gave his word into Galaxy that he’d remain if they met his conditions, and they did so,” Leonardo said.

“It might have been a very lovely story because it might have given a significant burden to the team.

“We can’t deny that both parties thought it, but it will not be possible.”

Milan had been hopeful of securing a loan like the deal that has been reached between the clubs in 2009 to get David Beckham – despite Ibrahimovic ruling a January move to Europe in November.

He has become a fan favorite in the MLS, with scored 22 goals in 27 appearances since joining from Manchester United\.

Los Angeles’ season ended in October along with the 2019 MLS season does not begin until March, although Milan are fourth in Serie A having scored in their last four top-flight matches.
