AC Milan were in talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over a possible loan from LA Galaxy however, the deal has collapsed, the athletic director Leonardo of the club has supported.
The 37-year-old scored greater than 50 goals in two seasons for Milan and helped them win the 2011 Serie A title but will not make a temporary return to Italy.
“He gave his word to Galaxy that he’d remain if they satisfied his terms, and they did accordingly,” Leonardo said.
“It would have been a really lovely story as it could have contributed a significant weight to the group.
“We can not deny that both parties thought of it, but it won’t be possible.”

Milan was hopeful of securing a loan similar to the deal that was reached between the clubs in 2009 for David Beckham – despite Ibrahimovic judgment out a January move to Europe in November.
