England along with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has shown Neymar is his current footballing idol, praising the forward’s”identity”.
Sancho, that has registered six goals and eight assists for Dortmund this season, was endorsed to blossom into England’s”Neymar-type” figure by his former youth coach in September
Ever since that time, the 18-year-old has hammered his way into the aspect of Gareth Southgate – getting the first player born after 2000 to get an England call-up and going on to record his first international aid\.
Sancho told that the media in his first England news conference he was able to watch videos of Ronaldinho on YouTube growing up as a child, but it seems a different Brazilian is now looked up to by him.
In an interview with an Mirror, he said:”Growing up, my favorite player was Ronaldinho. That speaks for itself, actually\. He had been such a great player and always played with a smile\.
“Now it’s Neymar, since he’s just different. He also takes the mickey out of individuals. Clearly it’s not good but he is just being himselfhe’s expressing himself and I really like that. Folks are maybe not about doing what he can fearful, but they just wouldn’t do.
“I just think when you are different you stand out longer and I like when people stand out since it’s something different, an identity on the pitch which you simply don’t see daily.”
