FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — New England Patriots Quarter Back Tombrady stated despite having a devastating last-second loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, there were many advantages in the game. Perhaps none besides tight-end Rob Gronkowski.
Gronkowski had his most productive day of this summer season on the stat sheet, catching eight passes. He caught every pass thrown in his direction in a performance that will quiet some of the talk that he’s no longer a difference-maker.
“I’m really so happy with him,” Brady said in his weekly meeting online sports radio WEEI. “He caught the ball last week against Minnesota and also took a pretty good hit and worked .
While the match improved gronkowski’s confidence appeared to be rising, though he had been notably among the Patriots who overlooked a handle during the Dolphins’ touchdown to end the match. After the match , he compared from that which he’s endured this season as he’s worked through back and ankle injuries, the hardship that the Patriots faced.
Things were searching for Sunday.
“I felt good out there, definitely,” he said. “I’m earning plays, penalizing, benefiting from chemistry built up. I wish we might have put up more things in the Redzone [3 6], however as a component we were playing well, moving the ball, and we’ve only got to carry on this positive series moving the ball on the offensive side.”
Gronkowski’s touchdown catch was his first scoring play in the red zone this season. Prior to there, Brady was 0-for-5 when targeting Gronkowski in the zone.
Gronkowski had 55 red-zone touchdowns from 2010 to 2017, tied with Jimmy Graham for some in the league during that span.
His first re-emergence on Sunday proved to be many others from the lockerroom along with a sight to Brady.
“I’m pleased for Rob,” longtime captain Matthew Slater said. “I have had the fantastic fortune to be here to the entirety of his career, and also having the ability to watch it firsthand is some thing I have really enjoyed. I can let you know personally, nobody works harder nobody loves football more.
“With everything that he’s been for him to bounce straight back every once in awhile, it says a whole good deal about the type of person he could be, and handling those scenarios. It’s great to have him on the area. We’re a better football team when he is on the field, so when he is doing what he did [Sunday].”
