Hugo Lloris insists Tottenham are effective at beating against Barcelona despite the form of both Lionel Messi.
Spurs must conquer the Catalan giants Tuesday to ensure their position in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Messi has scored 17 goals in as many games this year but could be rested with Barcelona currently assured of top spot in Group B.
Lloris considers that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner may attribute on Tuesday.
“I believe it is almost always a particular sport to play with Barcelona at the Nou Camp. It’s a unique place, it’s true we’ll be playing one of the greatest players ever,” he said.
“It won’t be simple but I feel the most crucial issue is to believe in our chance to experience. We’ll play with 100 per cent that we can get it done.
“I believe it isn’t easy to prevent a player such as Leo Messi but when we can do it is just as a staff. We’ll need a strong performance, separately obviously, but chiefly as a group.”
Messi scored two stunning free-kicks to assist Barcelona beat cross-city rivals Espanyol 4-0 in La Liga on Saturday, and Lloris admits Tottenham could fight to stop moments of individual brilliance by the Argentine.
“If you watch the free-kicks, then there is nothing to do, as it is in the upper corner like last night,” explained Lloris.
“He is the sort of player who will alter the match when he decides to.
“it’s quite tricky to confront a player . The only way will be to do it to not give him a lot of space, to be powerful enough and then believe in our chances\.
“For certain tomorrow we’ll have chances to score. We must be effective in both areas, offensively and defensively.”
