The yield for Pittsburgh is not yet known, but according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, the Pirates will get a pitcher and also international bonus pool money.

Nova needs to help solidify the 20-19 White Sox spinning. Chicago was attempting to incorporate starting casting thickness, with James Shields a free agent and celebrity prospect Michael Kopech place to skip this entire year since he recovers from Tommy John surgery.

Since he came in a transaction from the Yankees at 20, the 31-year-old Nova has been powerful for the Pirates. Last season, he had a 4.19 ERA in 29 starts for Pittsburgh with 114 strikeouts at 161 innings. Nova would have been described as a free agent following the’19 season, during which he is place to earn just over $9 million over the year of the contract.
