LOS ANGELES — Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse has re joined his team in Los Angeles after the death of his 94-year-old mother.

He said his mother, Marcella, died at Iowa, where he had been created at Carroll’s city.

He intends to coach Tuesday night from the Clippers and Wednesday evening at the Golden State Warriors, before returning to Iowa.

“I am here because my mum wouldn’t want it any other way,” Nurse said before the match.

Back in June, later Dwane Casey has been terminated, Nurse has been promoted from assistant to head coach of the Raptors. Nurse has led the team into a list of 217, best in the NBA.

“She needed a huge impact because she’d nine of us and I had been the last one,” the 51-year-old coach said. “A lot of games — 94 years, nine kiddies and around 80,000 games observed are her last stats”

Marcella Nurse lived in Carroll. Before Nurse was raised to head coach of the Raptors, she also endured a suspenseful wait June.

“The expectation was just something you wouldn’t imagine,” she told the Daily Times Herald paper in Carroll.

She tracked her youngest kid playing pops in baseball, football, basketball and track and field.

“He was always busy, trying to understand all kinds of sports,” she explained.

Marcella Nurse was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice. He died in July 2015 at age 8-9.
