With no main event and time exercising before Jan. 26, the UFC has decided to scrap the upcoming UFC 233 card collection to take place in Anaheim, Calif..

UFC officials announced the headlines .

“UFC now announced that the UFC 233 payperview event is postponed,” UFC officials wrote in a statement. “All of bouts previously slated for cards that are forthcoming for UFC 233 are being re scheduled. The February 10th payperview event at Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Australia will remain tagged UFC 234: Whittaker vs. Gastelum. Tickets for UFC 234 out of stock within minutes.

“rsquo & UFC;s 2019 event calendar will feature 1 2 payperview events. Specifics concerning the postponed pay-per-view will probably likely be announced later on. ”

As the UFC says the fight card has been lsquo;postponed’however, there’s no plan to re-schedule the card or a different event titled ‘UFC 233’.

The fights which were signed for UFC 233 would be altered to different cards at the coming weeks and weeks.

The UFC was scrambling for weeks hoping to secure a highprofile main event for its Jan. 26 payperview but nothing came together.

The promotion expected to book a welterweight title fight between tyronwoodley and Colby Covington but the reigning 170-pound champion was still dealing with recovery from thumb operation after his last fight in September.

The UFC fundamentally decided to scrap the card altogether when that fight didn & rsquo; t come together nor any alternatives which may help sell the payperview.

This is the second time within the past couple of years where the UFC has been made to refuse a meeting due to a lack of a principal event. UFC 208 was initially scheduled for Jan. 21, 2017 at Anaheim but no Major event was secured and also the promotion was forced to ditch the card

The UFC wound up renaming the next charge card in February as UFC 208 but now there’ll not be any changes. This card will remain UFC 234, which means UFC 233 will grow to be.
