Multiple sources reported late Wednesday night that the Mets reached a deal with freeagent reliever Jeurys Familia, who spent the first six and a half years of his career in Flushing. Familia provides Mets a setup person facing of recently acquired smoother Edwin Diaz.

Multiple sources reported late Wednesday night that the Mets reached a deal with freeagent reliever Jeurys Familia, who spent the first six and a half years of his career in Flushing. Familia provides Mets a setup person facing of recently acquired smoother Edwin Diaz.

The Mets have not confirmed the deal, which is pending a physical. The team dealt Familia to the A’s former to the non-waiver trade-deadline last July for two prospects, third baseman May Toffey and reliever Bobby Wahl, and $1 million in international incentive pool currency. Familia submitted a 3.13 ERA overall.
