Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas will miss four weeks after undergoing surgery on his left line, the team announced Thursday.

Valanciunas will be in a cast for four weeks, his status will be re evaluated.

The injury occurred in the second quarter of Wednesday’s win over the Golden State Warriors. Valanciunas was posting up Draymond Green when, as he turned to make a move, Green swiped down at the ball and then hit him on the hand.

The copy center dropped to the floor in misery, then caught holding his hand while in pain that was visible. A trainer spent some focusing on him along the seat before escorting the center to the lockerroom.

Valanciunas is averaging 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game for the Raptors, who have the greatest record in the NBA at 23-7.

ESPN’s Tim Bontemps led to this record.
