Former Cage Warriors flyweight winner, Nathan Greyson, will face EFC veteran and fellow promotional novice, Cal Ellenor, at his Bellator introduction in Newcastle on Feb. 9.

Bellator affirmed to MMA Struggling on Thursday.

Greyson (6-2-0) made international headlines when he had been axed from Cage Warriors a week out from his first title defense against Blaine O’Driscoll in Cage Warriors 99.

Just weeks before his withdrawal, in an interview with MMA Fighting’s , “Dread” underlined the lack of incentive to generate the 125-pound weight class due into the UFC’s reported axing of the branch. Cage Warriors president, Graham Boylan, later gave MMA Fighting a deadline of events that resulted in the winner ’s dismissal.

Even the Titan fighter sent shockwaves through the European scene when he passed fellow flyweight standout, Sam Creasey, the 2nd loss of his career via third-round TKO to function as organization’s first flyweight winner since Neil Seery in Cage Warriors 92: Super Saturday.

Ellenor (7-2-0) is coming from a loss in his EFC interim name struggle, suffering a decision defeat at the hands of Luthando Biko. He earned his shot at the name with a first-round entry finish of Faeez Jacobs in his introduction with the South African promotion.

These seven of Ellenor’s victories came by means of stoppage, asserting five of those wins. His only defeat was suffered to Gareth Buirski in his introduction also a split decision loss , under the EFC banner.
