DRAW REVIEW: The draw in Paris has outlined the road to the 20-19 World Champions in Japan for 18 teams
Playoff draw pits record EURO champions Norway against Belarus
The listing champions Norway will face Belarus in the 20-19 World Championship Play-off after the draw at the AccorHotels Arena has determined all nine pairings of the European qualification stage.
The draw was carried out by the EHF Vicepresident Predrag Boskovic and also the IHF Executive Committee member Frantisek Taborsky with the EHF Secretary-general Martin Hausleitner, at the sidelines of the Women’s EHF EURO 2018, exactly 333 days before the launching throw-off of this World Championship.
As Europe was allocated 1-2 slots, which usually do not comprise France as the defending champions, next season, it leaves room to really make the trip. Those teams will be set through two-leg play off ties.
The finals championship in Japan, which takes place from 29 November to 15 December 20-19, will feature 24 teams and 1 2 of these have been already supported: Japan because the host nation and France as the defending champions, and the Netherlands, Romania and Russia since the 3 best-ranked and maybe perhaps not qualified teams at the EHF EURO.
