WASHINGTON — The Buffalo Sabres have suspended ahead Patrik Berglund indefinitely for failing to report to the team.

The Sabres announced the suspension Saturdayhours before confronting the defending Stanley Cup winner Washington Capitals. They said there would be no info or comment at the time.

Berglund missed. The Swede includes just two goals and two assists in 23 games this year.

Buffalo acquired Berglund out of St. Louis Blues in the offseason as part of a four-player commerce that sent center Ryan O’Reilly to the Blues. Berglund, who played with the very first 10 seasons of his career with St. Louis, has three years remaining on his contract at a salary cap hit of $3.85 million.
