The Washington Wizards have reached an agreement to acquire Phoenix Suns forward Trevor Ariza at a three-team deal, league sources said told ESPN on Friday night.

Washington is sending forward Kelly Oubre to Memphis in the deal, ” the sources said.

Memphis may send Washington a 20 20 pick and a 2019 conditional second-round pick via Boston, the sources said.

The trade may be redeemed on Saturday that 2019 absolutely free agent signees become trade eligible.

As part of the transaction, Washington will build a $3.3 million trade exception. The Wizards have a $5.45 million exception (along with a $1.3 million, $957,000 and $694,000 exception) that was created in the Jason Smith transaction to Milwaukee.

Ariza along with his agent, Aaron Mintz of CAA, had expected that the la Lakers could finish a deal with the Suns, but that became more difficult to navigate lately, league sources said.

Phoenix owner Robert Sarver became more sensitive to doing a deal with the Lakers in aftermath of the criticism that was included with allowing center Tyson Chandler to find a contract buy out to join with the Lakers past month, sources said. The Lakers had been excited to create a deal for Ariza.

Ariza, 33, played with the Wizards out of 2012 to 2014, and has a fantastic relationship with all star guard John Wall. Before enrolling a $15 million deal with Phoenix, the Wizards had been considered by him in the summer agency.

The Grizzlies have become a fourth year reserve in Oubre, who is averaging a career-high 1-3 points-despite the bench role.
