The Phoenix Suns are lots of ways with guard Austin Rivers, league sources told ESPN.

The sides agreed that Rivers, that arrived in a trade with the Washington Wizards on the weekend, fits better with a more veteran team that’s chasing the play offs, sources said.

Rivers can be an unrestricted free agent once waivers, clear. He is bringing in $12.6 million this season. While there were discussions with clubs about destinations, Rivers does not appear to have a decision imminent on his stop, sources said.

Rivers, 26, has been sent to the Suns with Kelly Oubre for ahead Trevor Ariza in a Bargain formally completed on Monday.

29 did not play particularly well in 29 games with the Wizards this season, averaging 7.2 points in 2-3 minutes on 39 percent shooting. Rivers showed versatility at both guard positions as his Clippers career evolved.

26, rivers, has been the 10th pick from the 2012 NBA draft to New Orleans. This is his seventh NBA season.
