Now, Brantley combines a lineup that was already seen as one of baseball’s most useful.

“I am very inclined to be this, first and foremost,” said Brantley. “I am coming to a great team with a lot of great players and a great coaching staff. One of my most important goals of the offseason was supposed to receive somewhere where I had been comfortable and knew any guys, and also have a great time this year. It’s exciting.”

Astros general manager and president of baseball operations Jeff Luhnow disclosed that acquiring Brantley was a priority for him along with his staff since the Red Sox expunged Houston at the AL Championship Series.

“He matches the players that we have,” explained Luhnow,”and adds to what we think will probably be certainly one of the most effective and deepest lineups in baseball .”

After Brantley along with his Indians team mates fought the Astros beneath the AL standings over the last handful of years, he’s ready to see if he could assert his first World Series ring from blossom and orange.

“They really do a great job of putting you at a place to succeed day in and day out, based on what I have seen from the other side,” Brantley said of the new club. “I understand how well they have done within the past couple seasons, because we’ve faced them many times, plus they are a great set of guys. I felt as though this was a straightforward place to match; I am pretty relaxed, and now I like playing baseball. They seem like they’ve a good time here.”
