PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers running James Conner celebrated his first Pro Bowl nod on social networking by simply posting a 2015 text from Aaron Donald, his former team mate in Pitt who invited him throughout his cancer struggle.
Donald, a la Rams defensive tackle who is largely believed the NFL’s best defensive player, talked an expert Bowl into life for Conner, who reflected on that message out of his locker.
“It was awesome for this to come to reality,” stated Conner after Wednesday’s practice, in which he failed to engage while recovering from a high knee. “This has been a screenshot out of 2015, which has been my motivation. I was conversing with him last night. (Steelers defensive end) Cam Heyward delivered me a textmessage. I just shared the one from Aaron Donald because he said Pro Bowl in it. Bowl arrived out. Therefore many individuals reached out. I’d that screenshot for two or three years now.”
Conner defeated Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in time to play the 20-16 season at Pitt and have selected by the Steelers in the third round of this 20 17 draft. He’s 909 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 matches as Le’Veon Bell’s primary replacement.
Now, he likes the noise of James Conner, Pro Bowler.
“It’s this type of blessing. Came a ways. Massive honour,” Conner explained. “Joyful I’t got some of my teammates together along with me personally. We ’rein a better bowl. However, it’s an honour, though.”
“Collectively we eat,” Conner explained.
