OFFICIAL STATEMENT: The two teams were sanctioned for infringements in their straight VELUX EHF Champions League encounter.

The Court of Handball has two decisions in disciplinary proceedings opened against the teams following a VELUX EHF Champions League match between PGE Vive Kielce (POL) and also H C Vardar (MKD) played 14 October 2018.

A variety of infringements were detected within the course of this match.

A brawl of limited scope between players and officials from the teams took place which caused a match disturbance, an excluded player from H-C Vardar abandoned the racks and tried to enter the playing court and an offensive banner with ideological content was installed with the PGE Vive Kielce’s audiences in the racks.

The Court chose to impose the following sanctions:

PGE Vive Kielce will pay a fine of €5,000 for the unsportsmanlike behavior of their players and officials throughout the match, a nice of €2,500 for having neglected to ensure good order and security throughout the match and a nice of €7,500 for the affixing of an offensive and ideological banner by its own audiences.

H-C Vardar will pay a great deal of €6,000 to the unsportsmanlike behavior of their players and officials throughout the Match, that takes into account the fact that one of their clubrsquo;s players who had received a direct disqualification abandoned the racks and tried to enter the playing court throughout the brawl.

Appeals may be filed with the Court of Appeal.
