Dillian Whyte presented a knock out of the Year offender with a devastating left hook at the 11th round in a stunning rematch of just one of 2016’s best fights between two top-rated heavy weight contenders Saturday at London at a SHOWTIME BOXING INTERNATIONAL telecast from The O2 Arena. With the win, Whyte now gets the inside track at a world title fight in 2019.
Whyte (25-1, 18 KOs), who entered the fight holding the No. 1 ranking at the WBC and WBO, used a deadly left hook at the eleventh round to terminate the rematch, which was just as thrilling and unforgettable since the 20-16 battle, in striking style. The highly competitive, back and forth bout was equally contested from the opening bell. Chisora (29-9, 21 KOs), who was perhaps the more aggressive fighter, was exchanged two points, once for a low blow at the eighth round and once for an elbow at the 11th round. Anthony Joshua, who predicted the fight ringside for Sky Sports, went facetoface with Whyte following bout.
“That left hook is my own money shot. That shot is going to set a good deal of people away,” said Whyte, whose sole professional loss found Joshua at 2015. “They can train because of it just as far as they need. I’ve been in I can swim and deep waters. I used to be in fantastic shape. I wasn’t tired once, I was simply pacing myself and also I knew the knockout was about in the future. Whoever wants it will capture it. I want Joshua next! Let’therefore do this. Re Match! ”
“Let’forget about exactly what ’s happened in the past. “It was a good react then but let’s see where we now ’re now. Deontay Wilder could be the mark, but in case it’s maybe not it’s Dillian Whyte. ”
Saturday’s Show Time BOXING INTERNATIONAL telecast will unleash on Monday, December 2-4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME EXTREME and will probably likely soon be available on Show Time ANYTIME® and Show Time on DEMAND®.
The one-fight telecast out of London was hosted by Brian Custer and Hall of Fame analyst Steve Farhood.
