As an alternative, the Nevada product signed up a three-year, $8.6 million deal to combine the Chargers, returning to his home state of California.

Although Green has posted small amounts in the passing game this year, together with 19 catches for 210 receiving yards and a touchdownthat he was a major addition to a Bolts’ running game that is averaging 107.4 yards per game, ninth in the NFL. Green has played 608 snaps on offense to get the Chargers.

“It simply wasn’t healthy mentally for me to be there anymore,” explained Green of being in Denver. “Therefore I knew I had to escape from there. … This is the happiest I’ve been in a long time.

“I don’t have any ill feelings , I simply felt like how I played the game wasn’t admired just as far since it will be here now.”

“He’s been unselfish player,” Whisenhunt said. “He is a significant blocker. He’s done a good job in the pass game also worked hard. Therefore it was a significant movement by [general director ] Tom Telesco and his group for Virgil signed, because that position is always hard to find guys that you believe might possibly be as consistent as Virgil was, and he has been really good player for people .”

The duo totaled two sacks in Denver’s surprising 23-22 win over the Chargers at StubHub Center a month.

“They did some things against us which we’re kind of prepared for this go round,” Green stated. “However, those guys that they are several pretty unique guys.
