“So really,” he inquired within a networking gaggle,”the Cleveland team became the Baltimore Ravens?”

Yes, Landry was toldthat the team from Cleveland transferred to Baltimore after the 1995 season — won the Super Bowl following the 2000 season.

“Damn,” Landry said. “That hurt, did not it?”

It did indeed hurt.

Cleveland fans protested the movement so loudly and provided since the NFL maintained the team name and colors in Cleveland and brought the Browns in 1999. But that expansion season started a stretch of ineptitude that has only ended in 2018 with the development of a young team and quarterback Baker Mayfield.

He and the Browns (7-7-1) end up in an unusual position, one which leaves fans at least somewhat conflicted.

In case the Browns beat the Ravens on Sunday, they knock Baltimore (96 ) out of the playoffs.

But the team they would help are their additional AFC North rival, as if Pittsburgh wins and Baltimore falls, the Steelers (8-6-1) have been from the playoffs.

That has directed individuals in Pittsburgh to wear brownish along with gold and black, and the Steelers’ Antonio Brown to change his jersey:

“I really hope we could tie and nobody else gets ,” Landry said.

Yes, he had been joking.

“We want to get the match,” Landry said. “If it will help Pittsburgh, then so be it. Clearly you would like to get the match .”

The Browns’ goalis really to win half of the final seven and conclude with a winning record for the very first time as 2007.

“I’m simply starting the match believing that we’re attempting to finish 8-7-1,” safety Damarious Randall said. “Whatever results of that would be the results. I actually don’t think about,’If we win we’re serving Pittsburgh, should we lose we’re helping the Ravens.’ I really do not care.”

Randall said he would enjoy seeing the Browns ending Baltimore’s playoff hopes.

“It feels like we don’t have anything to lose,” Randall said. “But I feel like that we’re taking this match like it’s the second, third match of a playoff [series ]. We’re moving in it to win like they’re moving in it to triumph .”

The Browns have lost 29 of 39 games into the Ravens, including five before an overtime win over Baltimore in October.

In a sense, Browns fans should be happy no matter what goes on. If they lose, the Steelers will soon be outside. If they win, they could send the Ravens out. Either way, a rival sees its postseason hopes quashed.

Time has elicited a number of the suspicions in regards to the Ravens, but Cleveland has not forgotten even its team transferred into Baltimore. The Browns’ problem is that they will have fought for so long since they’ve not really had a lot of opportunity to produce a statement for those fans when confronting the Ravens. This season, they do.

“The passion, drive and the love of the Browns is so high that anytime whatever affects, of course, there will be emotions which can come in to play,” offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens said. “It’s, and I am sure it’s carried over for 20 years.”
