NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans got some good news Marcus Mariota returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s practice. Mariota was recorded as a limited participant as a result of neck and foot injuries.
Head trainer Mike Vrabel was encouraged with the step in the right direction.
“He did some stuff merely to make sure that we are progressing along. I think that’s the most important thing,” Vrabel said. “He did not simply take reps that he would ordinarily take, but he required enough to feel as if we can proceed to tomorrow”
Mariota said he would do every thing in his power to be prepared for the match on Sunday. He explained he had been optimistic about coming back to practice when he addressed the media on Wednesday.
The throat injury can be classified as a stinger, but is not said to be related to the preceding injury that limited Mariota’s usage of the thumb and pointer finger. Before going onto the field for training, Mariota was at the lockerroom re-lacing his cleats. While that’s a small accomplishment to most, it’s a thing that Mariota couldn’t do the week when he injured his elbow at the growing season opener against the Miami Dolphins.
