NEW YORK — The NHL has blasted Boston Bruins ahead David Backes three matches without pay to an illegal hit on the head of Nj Devils forward Blake Coleman.

The team considered Backes a repeat offender.

Predicated on his salary, he’ll lose almost $220,000. The discipline also means Backes will miss Tuesday’s Winter Classic contrary to Chicago at Notre Dame Stadium.

The incident occurred early in the third period Thursday night, even when Coleman had been clearing a rally from the nj zone. Backes delivered a shoulder into his head and hauled him into the ice.

The Bruins forwards was presented with a penalty.

Nj won 52.
