Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond could be Researched by the Rugby Football Union following a confrontation with a journalist after his Negative beat Gloucester on Saturday.
Adhering to post-match press conference, Diamond is said to have contested Sam Peters, who writes for the the Sunday Times and Independent.
Peters took to social networking to”confirm an altercation took place”.
A spokesperson said that the RFU would”look to it” when a complaint has been received.
Despite a short video of the pair claiming appearing in the Sunday Telegraph, and lots of reports giving detail of this altercation, the match’s federal governing body has not experienced a formal complaint.
On Saturday, the Press Association reported that there was an”unsavoury incident” between the pair, with Diamond apparently unhappy with criticism against Peters earlier in 2013.
The Sale coach is thought to have approached Peters and asked him to come outside the press area, with Diamond then squaring around the journalist and supposedly grabbing his dictaphone, until the pair were split after a heated verbal exchange.
Once contacted by BBC Sport, a Sale spokesperson said the incident was anticipated to be discussed Monday before any statement is made.
