MINNEAPOLIS — Chicago Bears right shield Kyle Long stewed within the visitors locker room at Lincoln Financial Field following last season’s 31-3 trouncing at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The match was a complete blow out by halftime, and to add insult to injury, the Eagles performed several choreographed team celebrations following touchdowns and turnovers — the sort of meticulously planned-out celebrations that the Bears have done in 2013.

But let’s just say Philadelphia was just a little before the on-field bash curve .

“Appearance, ” I ’m not here to watch celebrations,” Long snapped that day. “I’m here in order to obstruct the defensive front and obtain yards. We got negative six [rushing] lawns now. I really could give two s–s about their own celebration. If they would like to go on’Dancing with the Stars,’ that’s ideal for them. We’re attempting to win football matches. We didn’t even do this now. I’rsquo & m glad they;re well-choreographed in their dance patterns. We have to look for a solution to win football matches. ”

What a big difference a season makes.

The Bears are now the team that continually finds ways to win football matches. Chicago heads to its opening round playoff matchup against those exact same Eagles winners of four in a row and eight of 10.

And Long’s disposition was foul after the Bears’ 24-10 victory at the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Rather, Long, who returned from injured reserve and played his first snaps in two weeks at Week 17, expressed genuine enthusiasm to handle Philadelphia in the first round of the postseason, especially since Long’s mature brother, Chris, remains a staple on the Eagles’ leading seven in defensive end.

“nonetheless, it’ll be a great deal of pleasure, and my folks are going to be in a position to function there. I don’t even know whether Fox is covering the match, therefore that I don’t even know if dad [football analyst Howie Long] is there, however I know Chris and my mom is going to be there, so that is good.

“I’m glad for us proud of him. They have had a challenging beginning and have battled back and have an incredibly talented team. It is going to be a difficult match in your home. ”

The task of taking on the defending Super Bowl champions is definitely daunting, but the Bears are dripping confidently. For a team which hasn’t reached the postseason since 2010, the Bears have transported themselves like a perennial playoff team under head coach Matt Nagy, who simply strengthened the team’s bail with his choice to forgo resting starters so as to end the Vikings’ season.

“” I think in bodybuilding Nagy,” Bears defensive lineman Akiem Hicks stated. “He has done us far, going through OTAs, training camp now from the normal season. In case he feels as though it’s no time for people to play, we are going to go out there and play ball.

“We are super excited. We are super excited to go play some great football from the reigning Super Bowl champs. ”
