Tennis greats Roger Federer and Serena Williams will Fulfill court for the first time at the Hopman Cup on Tuesday Once Switzerland face America at Perth.
They will play in men’s and women’s singles rubbers before meeting at the mixed doubles along with spouses Belinda Bencic along with Frances Tiafoe.
Both 3-7, federer and Williams, have won a 43 Grand Slam titles.
“it’s very exciting for us and I hope a lot of tennis fans tune in and watch it,” said Federer.
Williams said it was”as a dream become a reality”. She added:”I have now already been looking forward to it. That is really cool.”
Despite their concurrent careers, Federer said it’d be an”exaggeration” to express he knew Williams well.
“I admire everything she’s done on / off the court, we are both ferocious competitors and we always wish to win,” he explained.
“It is going to be one time, probably . She’s one of the biggest champions in our game ever – people combined – therefore it is great to be playing against her.”
The Hopman Cup comprises two sisters and a mixed doubles match between nations within an roundrobin arrangement with just two groups of four. The champions of each group will contest Saturday’s final.
Federer and Bencic be at Britain’s Cameron Norrie and Katie Boulter in their opening roundrobin tie, as the united states lost to Greece on Monday even though Williams winning her sisters tie.
Switzerland would be the defending champions, both Federer and Bencic having won the case in Perth at January 2018.
