The Oakland Raiders are hiring NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock since their general manager, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Raiders coach Jon Gruden called Mayock a”passionate personnel man” following his team’s season-ending 35-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

“He enjoys it,” Gruden said. “He has done it for a long time. I am aware he’s had chances to get back into the NFL. We’ll see what happens. We’ll see how the dust settles.”

Mayock has drawn interest from teams using general manager openings in recent years, for example, Washington Redskins before the 20 17 season.

He’ll replace Reggie McKenzie, whom the Raiders fired Dec. 10.

The Raiders, who finished 4-12, have the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, in addition to the first-round selections owned by the Dallas Cowboys along with Chicago Bears.

Mayock’s hire’s statement is anticipated to be made since Monday.

Info from ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez was used in this report.
