Manchester-united interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims the speculation around Tottenham director Mauricio Pochettino”can there be for a reason”.
The couple head the betting to take control as United’s next full-time boss, with Pochettino still rated a lot more inclined to restore Jose Mourinho.
Solskjaer is in temporary charge, and it has won his first five United matches.
“It is not my occupation to rate different managers but he’s done an excellent career,” explained Solskjaer.
“The speculation is there for a reason.”
The couple go headtohead at Wembley on Sunday, using United attempting to avenge a 3-0 home defeat by Spurs in August.
He had been on target at Old Trafford in August and, combined with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is joint-top scorer from the Premier League with 14 goals and well placed to win the following Golden Boot following his successes at 2016 and 2017.
Whilst the 16th-highest scorer at United’s history with 126 goals, and the man responsible to the lastminute Champions League winner against Bayern Munich in 1999, Solskjaer is well placed to assess the virtues of Kane.
“He is not bad is he?” Said the Norwegian.
“He is a wonderful goalscorer, one of the best on earth. From the outside it seems like he misses chances indeed. We have to be sure he doesn’t get us.”
After missing the FA Cup win over Reading through injury, which also supposed he had been a late arrival to United’s training camp at Dubai, midfielder Paul Pogba is going to be matched for the Tottenham match.
Solskjaer accepts the match represents the first significant test of the positive impact he’s made since agreeing to stand irrespective of his job at club side Molde to direct United through before end of the season.
He has already paid off the gap to fourth position from 11 points once he took to six, with United 10 points supporting third-placed Tottenham.
“They are a premier, top side and should you want to get close for them or go past them we will need a fantastic end effect,” he explained.
