South Korea’s Football Association has awarded gold awards into the kids of four dead players who received fakes after their 1960 Asian Cup triumph.
The united states has not won the Cup because success, along with media accounts and a few fans attribute their failure to do soon the”curse” of the fakes.
“these were coated with cheap gold, which peeled off easily,” explained Park Kyung-hwa, who played with at the 1960 team.
In 2014, the KFA started issuing replacement pure gold awards.
They handed out six to five players or their loved ones prior to this 2015 Asian Cup. But, South Korea lost from the last of the tournament after being defeated 2-1 by Australia.
The KFA given out four prior to the beginning of this 2019 Asian Cup, but a formal has denied the latest awards were built to help improve the prospects of the crew at the current tournament.
“It happened quite a while ago so it’s quite a challenge to locate the family members of these players,” he explained, with eight associates of the 1960 squad yet to receive their gold awards.
“Though he [my father] didn’t speak about it [the imitation medals], I’m sure he felt sad at the moment,” she explained.
“I hope the players may win this season’s Asian Cup – I’m sure my father wants to see it too.”
He’s set to play against China on Wednesday because the two countries compete to find the best spot in their own group to avoid a potentially harder approach to the final in Qatar.
