Scotland must beat against Ireland on Saturday at Murrayfield to establish they have been serious contenders for the Six Nations name, says captain Greig Laidlaw.
Scotland have not finished higher than third in the Six Nations but in the last two years have beaten every single team.
Laidlaw says when they want to”take the next step” towards rival for the name”it has games like that you will need to win against quality resistance”.
“Ireland are among the best teams in the world,” said the scrum-half,” 3 3.
“We’ve got plenty of admiration for them. If we will win we will need to play a number of our very best games.”

There’s been much discussion in regards to the Scots confronting an Ireland back lash later England beat Joe Schmidt’s men 32-20 in their own turf in their opening match.
