Yorkshire bowler Steve Patterson has been appointed to a full time basis together with all three formats as captain.
Even the seamer was initially the one day skipper, but took over in mid june until the end of last season after Gary Ballance has been given off time.
Patterson was one of five players Yorkshire at 2018 – just the time that the county had had so many.
“He’d fantastically well both on and off the area,” director of Cricket Martyn Moxon told the club website.
“He’s relishing the role, and it has his feet under the table now. It’s an easy decision for him to remain as club captain for the near future.
“When you’re under great pressure and also a couple of decisions go against you personally, you need that serene head to calm everyone down and not anxiety. Steve’s very good at that.”
Patterson added:”It had been my dream to play for Yorkshire, so to go and play for and then priest Yorkshire, means everything to me personally “
