BOSTON — Boston maintained a pre game ceremony to honor Patrice Bergeron to get playing his 1,000th game in the NHL.
Bergeron was connected by his wife, their three kids along with his parents beforehand of the game Saturday against the la Kings. He received presents by teammates and the NHL and loud ovations from the TD Garden crowd.
On Tuesday he became the fifth player in Bruins’ history to play with 1000 games with this team. Others to reach the landmark with all the games at a Boston uniform are Hall of Famers Ray Bourque along with John Bucyk, present GM Don Sweeney and Wayne Cashman.
Bucyk presented Bergeron using a crystal bowl on behalf of this NHL. His teammates — led by captain Zdeno Chara, goaltender Tuukka Rask and forward Brad Marchand, David Krejci along with David Backes — gave him a household trip to your destination of his choice. He received a picture hoisting the Stanley Cup in 2011.
Bergeron scored two goals in a 3-1 win against the ny Islanders throughout his 1,000th game.
