Southampton want to ban two fans that taunted Cardiff City fans regarding striker Emiliano Sala’s death.
The Argentine died together with his own body nearly 3 weeks before, in a plane crash.
2 Saints fans were envisioned making aeroplane gestures during their side’s 2-1 home defeat by the Bluebirds and so were spoken to by Hampshire Police.
“Such behavior has no place within our match and won’t be taken at St Mary’s,” a club statement read.
“Southampton Football Club can confirm that two fans were arrested and had their details obtained by police during our game against Cardiff City on Saturday.
“The team will continue to work together with Hampshire Police to identify some individuals known to have made indecent gestures towards Cardiff fans.
“The team will be taking a very firm stance against anyone involved and intends to ban those fans identified.”
After Cardiff’s injury time win, Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock said:”We wanted to do it for Emiliano and I’m very proud that the lads did him justice.”
There were tributes and a minute’s silence before the match started.
