Espargaro joined Aprilia at 2017 and made a step backwards the following year, scoring 18 fewer points at 2018 than he handled the previous season and asserting that the staff left a wrong twist development-wise.

However, he’s been happy through the Sepang test ahead of this 2019 season, saying Aprilia is now growing the bike the way it needs to have and the new bike is a lot more similar to the 2017 machinery.

“The’18 bike was completely taken care of, do not know why we did that bike, however the’19 bike is the development of this’17, it extends on the [same] leadership,” clarified Espargaro, who was seventh fastest in the test.

“I enjoy [it], which bike is the bike I had been anticipating past season. I feel great on the bike, especially my position, I will ride harshly once I put tyre and that I ask to proceed to the limit.

“which usually means I feel well on this bike. The very first issue is always to get a bike that from now on we could build some thing better and enables you to actually become comfortable.

“I am happy because we restrain quite good the situation, I didn’t relax since today, working, trying many different digital package.

“Additionally yesterday [Thursday] we assist really used tyres with full tank to ready the race simulation, we all did a really good simulation, so I had been happy.”

Espargaro reported that is just a more powerful engine.

“another step for me personally is always to get more power, because we work much in the electronics package this weekend and at the nighttime we compare many data together with Romano [Albesiano] about my riding style, my acceleration,” he explained.

“I believe we now have a really good chassis however whenever you find the top four guys together with the Ducati, the strongest engine to the grid, it’s clear, in MotoGP you need power.

“I believe we now have a great base and out of here we now need to get more power.”
