Sam Alvey finally made it on a pay-per-view card into his 17th fight. However he didn’t get much of a chance to show what he can do on the huge stage.

Alvey fought Jim Crute in the PPV opener at UFC 234 on Saturday night. However got in the way in which, as Crute had been declared that the TKO winner at the 2:49 mark.

The fight was not going Alvey’so. Dropped him first with a big right to the chin, then made the mistake of backing off, assuming referee Marc Goddard would wave off matters , which he didn’t.

That enabled Alvey to receive straight back into the fight, but him dropped , and started throwing hands. Approximately half the pitches thrown landed on Alvey’s arm, hit on the mat, or dropped entirely, and Alvey gave a thumbs up to Goddard. But Goddard waved off the bout.

Alvey popped up to his feet protesting the decision, and hauled out of the cage once the decision was left.

The Crute improved to. Alvey (33-12, 1 NC) has currently dropped two in a row.
