All-Star guard Kyrie Irving is recorded as out for Tuesday’s match against the 76ers in Philadelphia with a strained right knee, that the Boston Celtics announced.
Irving suffered the trauma with about 5 minutes remaining in the second quarter of Saturday night’s match against the LA Clippers. The Clippers outscored the Celtics 75-44 after Irving left, coming straight back from 28 points to win 123-112.
Irving scored 14 points in 14 minutes before arriving limping up.
Irving is averaging 23.8 points, 7.0 assists and 4.9 rebounds for Boston, which is 1 game back of Philadelphia in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
