MVAgusta signed a four-year deal with existing Moto2 team Forward Racing to take part in the intermediate class, with all the prior constructor Suter staying as a partner of the team.

There was controversy surrounding the group 2019 lineup as original duo Romano Fenati and Stefano Manzi had a scandalous incident at Misano, leading to the prior to be banned for the rest of the season. His deal with Forward and MVAgusta was afterwards terminated.

While the team has been reported to be close to a change of heart that might have resulted in Fenati being reinstated, it eventually settled Dominique Aegerter to partner Manzi at 2019.

“I am very happy and pleased to be part of the MVAgusta Forward Racing Team job,” explained Aegerter, who goes around in Kiefer Racing. “This can let me contribute, too as a result of my skills, to the evolution of the brand new F2 [bike].

“Everything would be new to me, both the bike and the team, however, the very first impressions are indeed favorable: the people are professional and competent, I’m convinced we’ll get the job done well during the entire season.

“We are going to have excellent responsibility and a glorious name to bring to the track but step by step we will get the best means for this exciting adventure.”

Manzi included:”Next season is going to be my next on this team. It will be an amazing season, all to be discovered, at which we will return to the track after so many years the maker MVAgusta: we will have a completely new motorcycle, built from scratch, and this also gives me lots of energy and enthusiasm.

“We have already tested the F2 on the track and it responded well right from the beginning. I’m comfortable on the bike and that I can not wait to get on course in the evaluations we’re likely to do in a few days in Spain.”
