TAMPA, Fla. — The Buccaneers have now released defensive end Vinny Curry, the first key roster cut under new head coach Bruce Arians.

The Bucs signed Curry last off season to a deal worth $23 million with $6.5 million guaranteed to restore Robert Ayers. Curry handled a nagging shoulder injury through much of the summer season. He started seven of 12 games, ending with 21 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks.

He was expected to earn.

The Bucs are experiencing a scheme change under new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles to more of a 3-4 defense, which makes Curry expendable. The Bucs had roughly $15 million into space.
