Glamorgan have passed a two-year contract extension to spin bowling all rounder Andrew Salter.

After making his debut salter, 25, will be at the bar until at least 2021.

“Andrew’s played quite a great deal of for the club in all formats, but we all view him as a man with a enormous addition to give,” said director of Mark Wallace.

“It’s a good time to push and turn within that senior all rounder we would like.”

While his best bowling figures of 4-80 came against in 2018, pembrokeshire-born Salter has a Championship career-best of 88 with the bat.

He featured in 2018 in every Glamorgan matches, but lost his place on Kieran Bull at the Championship’s month.

“Kieran’s come in and done well, therefore that I presume which will give Andrew that extra edge with this competitive soul between these,” Wallace told BBC Sport Wales.

“Spin bowling is an arduous art within this region and you’ve got to find the overs under your belt. It’s (about) consistency in Andrew now he has the knowledge ”

Salter has been playing club and training in New Zealand.

Seam bowlers Timm van der Gugten and also Ruaidhri Smith are playing for Netherlands and Scotland within a T20 tournament in Oman .

Glamorgan open their Championship campaign against Gloucestershire at Cardiff on 11 April, following a friendly against Cardiff MCCU and a training camp at the Spanish resort of La Manga, for example practice matches against Gloucestershire.
