NEW ORLEANS — A MRI on Pelicans star Anthony Davis‘ left shoulder Thursday night demonstrated a muscle contusion but”nothing overly awful,” a source told ’s Ramona Shelburne.

Davis didn’t return to the seat and abandoned agent Rich Paul to Smoothie King Center during the match to get an MRI.

A source told Shelburne the Davis will head to Carolina — site of Sunday’s allstar Game — and also acquire treatment. Davis will observe before deciding if they is able to play exactly how he believes.

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry, that advised colleagues after Tuesday’s blowout loss to the Orlando Magic that he was done discussing the drama resulting from Davis’ trade petition, praised his players for pulling out the win amid a tumultuous past couple of weeks.
