Wales along with Scarlets hooker Ken Owens says he’s”deeply concerned” on plans to merge Ospreys and Scarlets.

Included in’Project Reset’ the competing regions are expected to merge, with a fresh team created in the north of Wales.

It’d leave no security over their futures to some players in limbo.

The controversy has also resulted in the resignation of all Ospreys chairman Mike James, who attributed that the Welsh Union’s”catastrophic mismanagement” to revamp regional .

Wales hooker Owens, chairman of the Welsh players’ union, said”This really could be definitely the most difficult situation that I or possibly some participant has confronted throughout our careers.

“I’m deeply worried with the situation that the players round the 4 regions face.”

In a statement published by the Welsh Players Association (WRPA), the Irish and British Lion included:”It is also clear players will need to be represented… because they are able to and needs to be part of the answer. There is no Welsh .”

WRPA chief executive Andries Pretorius said uncertainty could cause numerous players.

“It would also be dreadful for players, fans and our sport to lose ancestral ability to teams in England or France who are providing the security players want in their professions,” said former Wales forward Pretorius.

“We could just hope’Project Reset’ can enhance our game from Wales, but it’s thrown far more questions than it’s replied so far and can precisely the time of all this be any worse?”

Welsh ’s newly-formed Professional Board (PRB) was due to go over the proposals on Tuesday within their want to create the most radical shift to regional football in Wales as 2003.

A merger could be confirmed as soon as Sunday, with the region.

‘Project Reset is now Project Inept’

James’ fellow Ospreys benefactor Rob Davies has brought over as chairman.

Ospreys state his resignation was announced by James .

He explained:”None of us doubt that regional requires restructuring so as to guarantee the long-term sustainability of this game.

“The way by which that has been treated however is nothing short of chaotic, leading to a fatal mixture of uncertainty, conjecture and insecurity currently hanging over regional ’s potential.

“To rationally and impartially map from the future of regional football is one thing, to wound it with an ill judged, cavalier process is just another.

“We finally have the worst of all worlds – a lack of clarity, a lack of transparency and a total inability to plan beforehand. We can no longer make business decisions or and nor can our players or partners. Project Reset is now Project Inept.

“I cannot and wont be an event to the degree of catastrophic mismanagement and today I’ve make the decision to stand down as both chairman and a manager of this Ospreys, surrendering my stance onto the PRB.”

“Certainty has to be restored to the game and also quickly. The restructuring process itself must be suppressed, with checks and balances, independent transparency and oversight.

“We already have so many dracks in maintaining pace with the expert game, we don’t need more.”
