Worldcup winner Thomas Muller says he is”puzzled” and”mad” by Germany coach Joachim Low’s decision to tell him he will not be selected again.
The players were part of Germany’s World Cup-winning team in 2014.
“The more I contemplate it, the more how it was done, gets me mad,” Muller said in a video on societal networking.
“The coach’s sudden decision obviously left me bemused. No problem, sporting decisions must be made by A coach, I don’t have a problem with that.
“However, it’s mostly the nature of this decision I actually don’t understand. Jerome and I are still able to play with at the highest level.
“The media announcements of the German football federation and its own president [Reinhard Grindel], prepared ahead, were from my point of perspective in bad taste and revealed too little consideration.”
Bayern chief Karl Heinz Rummenigge said he was”irritated” by the timing of Low’s announcement.
“We consider the timing and conditions of this announcement, both to both public and players, as suspicious,” explained Rummenigge in a joint statement with sport manager Hasan Salihamidzic.
“the final global match of this German federal team took place on 19 November 2018 – a half months past.”
