The Baltimore Ravens and tight conclusion Nick Boyle have consented to a brand new three-year arrangement, a source told ESPN’s Dan Graziano on Thursday. The deal will be worth $18 million, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Boyle have been eligible for unrestricted free agency in a few days and was likely to draw some interest from other teams.
Boyle, who turned 26 is the most under rated of the Ravens’ offensive starters who had been scheduled to hit free agency. A valuable blocker, Boyle lined up as a tight end-fullback hybridvehicle, helping Baltimore rush to an NFL-best 4,297 yards over the past two seasons (if he started a total of 24 matches ). His critical block last year at a 26-16 win in Atlanta sprung quarter back Lamar Jackson for a 13-yard touch down run.
Even a fifth-round selection (171st overall) in 2015, Boyle was a better receiver than his numbers might suggest. Last week he caught 23 passes for a career-best 214 yards and rated out whilst the tight ending from the AFC North.
He had been suspended for using drugs, sidelining him for a total of 14 games. That prompted coach John Harbaugh to express Boyle wouldn’t normally function as team when he continued to”double back on dumb.”
Boyle missed just one game and remained in his last two weeks out of trouble. His 624 snaps last season were 229 significantly more than some other tight end on the Ravens roster.
ESPN’s Jamison Hensley contributed to this record.
