midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was taken away as a”precaution” in his very first match after spending 11 months to the sidelines.

After sustaining damage in April during a win over Roma oxlade-Chamberlain, 25, had surgery in May.

Before arriving on 41 minutes, he started at Derby in Under-23 degree but touched his right hamstring.

“Fingers crossed it’s nothing and just a precaution,” said Under-23 director Neil Critchley.

Critchley disclosed Oxlade-Chamberlain was scheduled to play 4-5 minutes and after being replaced, the England midfielder seemed in good spirits since he spoke to team staff and acknowledged fans.

“The bonus for him is that it’s perhaps not his kneeso he is delighted there are no issues with that,” added Critchley, whose side won 31.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been named in Liverpool’s Champions League squad despite boss mentioning in July that he’d miss most of the growing season.
