England allrounder Chris Woakes has already signed Warwickshire on a contract extension before at the conclusion of the 20 22 season.
Birmingham-born Woakes has scored 5,620 runs, including 10 centuries, and accepted 474 wickets in Cricket.
Since the Bears won promotion to Division 19, the played from the County Championship in 2018.
“Representing my home county is always a wonderful honor and I’m thrilled to secure that expansion,” he said.
Woakes, that left his own first team debut in 2006 and also came through the youth system of the club, helped the county win two one day Cup triumphs in 2010 and 2016 the Championship in 2012 and the T 20 Blast in 2014.
He did not play a role in England’s recent Test series but came back to play in four of the five one-day internationals.
“Whilst we expect Chris to play a major function for England in one of the primary summers while in the game, which comprises the ICC Cricket World Cup and the Ashes series, his long term commitment to the club is a huge boost to Warwickshire and Birmingham Bears even as we approach the new season,” first team coach Jim Troughton stated.
