Zebaztian Kadestam was defending his welterweight Name for first time in ONE: Reign of Valor in Yangon on Friday. His ability eventually proved too much for Georgy Kichigin, although Even the fighter spent the fight in places.

The Kazakh welterweight appeared to be projecting the contest because the two men left handed against the crate in the final seconds of their second round.   Kichigin was working for a double-leg take-down, but ate a challenging elbow from Kadestam which seemed to daze him.

Instead of sitting on his stool, Kichigin collapsed into the ground. He seemed to have his wits about him and had been in an upright posture , but failed to emerge to the round, handing.

Because Kichigin had begun the fight 11, it had been a surprise. He got Kadestan down almost immediately and forced the winner to spend much of the opening two rounds on his back takedown efforts.

Kadestam was able to score with leg kicks, but not got his remarkable going. He did land a jab from the second stanza, but wasn’t able to control the stand up exchanges and has been taken down again towards the end of the round.

He quickly worked his way upward and the fight seemed poised with the round about to end and neither man able to claim a clear benefit. Subsequently Kadestam connected with his elbow and a minute wasn’t long enough to recoup.

The Swedish fighter has ceased his three opponents and improves to 12-4. After seeing his 14 fight kichigin falls to 20-6, four year winning streak brought to an ending on his ONE Championship debut.

There was also a win for Filipino straight Rene Catalan (6-2), that ceased Yoshitaka Naito (13-3) with strikes in the opening round. Meanwhile, heavyweight  Mauro Cerilli (13-3) was celebrating after completing Alain Ngalani (4-5-0-1) with grounded knees that, after having a long delay, were deemed legal.
