Zarco was 17th and 19th at both MotoGP tests at Sepang and Qatar a second slower compared to team-mate Pol Espargaro at the latter.
He is just 18th after the Friday practices, more than two seconds off the pace.
Beirer explained that he could be amazed to see Tech Zarco Hafizh Syahrin, who has been the slowest full-time MotoGP rider by eighth tenths on Friday and also switched out of a Yamaha although Zarco, struggling to accommodate for the KTM.
“We are a little bit astonished as it is possible to view how Pol is becoming better and better and adapting to this bike,” Beirer told motogp.com.
“He is requesting something, we give it to him, he looks better again, so that is working flawless.
“I don’t desire to lie, we all expected a less strenuous swap for Johann ahead over on our bike and do good, but he fights more.
“Looks like that is shown that you need to ride a KTM different than a number of the additional bicycles and Johann still needs to accommodate to our bike.
“At the moment he is riding a decent speed but we are not there yet.
“same thing about the Tech 3 garage that Syahrin, coming from an strong MotoGP bike, he is trying hard to accommodate our bike, whereas Miguel [Oliveira] does an excellent job originating from Moto2, he demonstrated already good quality Highlights.
“Looks like if you’re coming not used into this bike and develop the riding mode for this bike, things can proceed good however, you can’t ride just like a Yamaha as an instance”
Zarco still aims top 10 at Qatar GP
Despite an undesirable Friday, Zarco explained that a top-10 finish from the MotoGP season opener remains his aim.
He explained if his pace is not good using the KTM at the moment, solid race speed may give him a better effect on Sunday.
“I don’t change the prospective and I state top at the end of the race,” Zarco said.
“I know that for a quick laptime immediately everybody is fairly close.
“It’s is a different work to execute a quick lap that I am incapable to do at the minute together with my bike.
“However [if I] discover the constancy around the 1m56s or perhaps currently under the 1m56s, I still believe that this can give me a top in the race”
